Grief is like flower petals

1. Fragile and Fleeting
Just like flower petals, grief is delicate. It can be stirred by the slightest memory, a scent, a sound. It’s tender to the touch, easily bruised by careless words.

2. Layers Unfold Over Time
Petals open slowly, one by one—grief does too. The full weight of it often isn’t felt all at once. It reveals itself in stages, sometimes unexpectedly.

3. Beauty in the Pain
There is sorrow in a wilting petal, but also beauty. Grief, in its own way, is a testament to love and connection—just as a flower’s falling petals signal that it once bloomed.

4. Scattered and Sudden
Petals can fall in a gust of wind, surprising and uncontrolled. Grief hits the same way: scattered memories, waves of emotion, moments that fall without warning.

5. Return to the Earth
Petals eventually fall and return to the soil—grief, too, settles. It becomes part of us, absorbed into who we are, shaping new growth, even when the pain remains.
