A closed mouth don’t get fed they say

So today I witnessed the most beautiful demonstration of the saying, “a closed mouth don’t get fed.” Not the aggressive version 🤭that y’all be on, but the one that the Lord was teaching in Phillipians.

I’m standing in the line in the post office, me and two other ladies, when in enters the third lady. I could see her in my peripheral and I noticed that she kept checking her hand as if she was looking at her nails. She did this about three or four times so me being curious, (not nosey 😂) I look over because now I want to see your manicure lady, it must be stunning. So finally after about that fourth check of the hand, she asks aloud, “Does anyone happen to have a tissue or something? My nail bed is bleeding, I bumped it on the way in here.” The lady behind me says “oh yeah I have some wet ones” and she hands one to her. Lady 3 thanks her, saying yes this is perfect and she wiped and wrapped her finger. Now get this, the lady in front of me says, “and here’s a Band-Aid, because you’ll need that,” and she handed the lady a Band-Aid. I was floored you hear me!

Friends, the Lord was showing me right up close, live and in real time, in person that I have to open my mouth. And see oftentimes and for so many reasons, but the primary reason being pride, we don’t open our mouths because it looks like no one can help. We don’t want to look foolish, or be embarrassed, we worried about what people will think, or say.

That lady could have stood there and become a bloody mess had she not opened her mouth, or missed her opportunity to address her postage need if she had left, because the office was closing in roughly 25 minutes. But she spoke out and everything that she needed in that very moment was right there, given to her by complete strangers.

I don’t know what your need is, or heck your desire (I only know mine), but even the Lord tells us in his word to make our requests known, in Phillipians 4:6. In other words “A CLOSED MOUTH DON’T GET FED.”

And of course there’s so much other goodness He tells us in that chapter that can help us to truly learn how to live CONTENT, having our needs met, no matter if you’re up or down. Check it out for yourself.

I don’t know if you saw it like I saw it, but this blessed my soul real good y’all and I had to share.

Now, to that end, I’m opening my mouth to say you can like, tag, and share with someone, because you never know who else may see it, like I saw it and be blessed by it!
